A morning of theater and brunch!
In June 2014, The Big Funk embarked on an exciting venture by collaborating with New York's
Ensemble Studio Theater's Youngblood playwrights program.
Since then, the Big Funk has nurtured this initiative in Paris, fostering collaborations with playwrights from around the world, including members of the Big Funk team themselves. We take great pride in reimagining this original project, which EST initiated almost two decades ago in New York, and bringing it to life in Paris under the name AMERICAN SUNDAYS. This unique
event offers a morning of theater and brunch, featuring four one-act plays, each performed under a different thematic backdrop, and followed by a delectable American brunch. The plays are presented in English with French surtitles.
The inaugural American Sundays by The Big Funk took place in June 2014 at La Nouvelle Seine. In 2015, we sailed over to the Péniche Adelaïde. Our 2016 season witnessed resounding success at Le Théâtre du Lucernaire, building an ever-expanding audience base. In our quest for a larger venue, the Big Funk made its home at the Théâtre du Gymnase for the 2016/2017 season. Following another triumphant run, American Sundays has now found its place at the Théâtre du Lucernaire.
Tickets are available for the performances separately, with brunch tickets purchasable on the
